Ari M. Zak focuses his practice on the taxation of investment funds and their investors, particularly on matters relating to mutual funds, closed-end funds, exchange-traded funds, business development companies and variable insurance funds. Mr. Zak also advises on matters relating to private investment funds, including hedge funds and private equity funds, in addition to general transactional matters involving clients in the financial services industry.
In addition, he regularly advises on structuring and developing new funds and products, disclosure, mergers and restructurings of investment funds, ongoing tax compliance and the taxation of financial products.
Mr. Zak has been recognized by The Legal 500 US for Tax: US non-contentious tax, where he was described as an “excellent tax advisor who is willing to explore and discuss options to aid in resolving the matter at hand.”
