Marc Seimetz focuses on financial law (including investment funds), company and commercial law, and contract law, advising clients on the incorporation of investment funds and companies, regulatory approvals, corporate documents, contracts, listings, offering of securities, mergers, and liquidations. He also provides advice on labour law to corporations.
Mr. Seimetz advises clients on determining the most effective fund structures and on the incorporation, on-going compliance and eligibility of investments of Luxembourg UCITS, “part II” funds, risk-capital funds (SICAR), securitisation vehicles, reserved alternative investment funds (RAIFs) and specialised investment funds (SIF), including hedge funds, funds of funds, and real estate funds. He assists with the registration and on-going compliance process for foreign UCITS in Luxembourg.
He advises on financial services matters including advice on public offerings, private placements, the setting up of professionals in the financial sector, share holding disclosure requirements, and listing on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange.
Mr. Seimetz is ranked as a leading lawyer for investment funds by Practical Law Company. He is recommended as a leading lawyer in Legal 500 EMEA, Chambers Global and in Chambers Europe. Chambers Europe 2015 notes that Mr. Seimetz has "a good perspective on regulatory matters" and Legal 500 EMEA 2014 states that he demonstrates "industry knowledge, experience and pragmatism". Chambers Europe 2014 states that he “combines a broad knowledge of corporate and commercial law with a dedicated activity in mutual funds”. In Legal 500 EMEA 2010, Mr. Seimetz is described as “one of the key names in the market” for investment funds and as having “a fine reputation”.
