Nicholas J. Pace, Ph.D. counsels clients in patent and intellectual property matters concerning biotech and pharmaceutical technologies. Dr. Pace’s expertise in navigating the intricacies of the USPTO, as well as foreign patent offices, has resulted in a strong track record of securing patent protection for his clients' innovations. He focuses on all aspects of a given technology, including active ingredients, manufacturing, and formulations, in the strategic development of patent portfolios and product lifecycle management. 

His practice also includes conducting comprehensive due diligence assessments in the context of mergers and acquisitions, licensing, and financing transactions. He also conducts freedom-to-operate and validity analyses assessing the risk of potential patent infringement.

Prior to joining Dechert, Dr. Pace worked as an attorney and patent agent at another Boston-based law firm.
