Freddie Newman focuses his practice on alternative asset management matters with an emphasis on the structuring, management and marketing of investment funds across a broad range of asset classes, including relating to both liquid and illiquid strategies, and advises on open-ended, hybrid and closed-ended fund structures across onshore and offshore jurisdictions, as well as service provider relationships and documentation. His practice also covers the establishment of start-up asset management businesses, as well as related regulatory and compliance issues.
During his time at Dechert, his previous experience includes completing a secondment to the London headquarters of a leading investment manager and venture capital firm where he advised on general fund management, fund marketing and regulatory and compliance matters in respect of their fund products. He has also spent time on secondment to Dechert’s Dublin office.
He is also co-chair of Dechert’s Global Associates Committee.
Freddie Newman trained at Dechert and qualified in both England & Wales and in New York in 2019.
