Dechert Achieves Mansfield Plus Certification for 2019

Dechert LLP has achieved Mansfield Rule 2.0 Plus Certification for 2019, as a result of the firm’s strong commitment to moving the needle on diversity and inclusion. The Diversity Lab, an incubator focused on diversity and inclusion issues in the legal industry, launched the Mansfield Rule campaign in 2017. The primary goal is to increase the representation of historically underrepresented lawyers in law firm leadership by broadening the pool of women, lawyers of color and LGBTQ+ lawyers who are considered for significant governance roles, senior lateral openings and promotions.

This certification indicates that Dechert continues to make progress on the Rule’s goal of diversifying law firm leadership by expanding our pipelines, increasing transparency, and participating in candid knowledge sharing. It is especially meaningful this year because it marks the 150th anniversary of Arabella Mansfield’s becoming the first woman admitted to a U.S. bar association.

Dechert has signed on for Mansfield Rule 3.0 Certification, which adds lawyers with disabilities to the pool of candidates that may be considered for the Mansfield Rule’s categories.
