India Business Law Journal Recognizes Dechert as a Firm to Watch
Dechert LLP has been listed as a “Firm to Watch” by the India Business Law Journal, which highlights the India-related activities of law firms across the globe. The publication’s annual survey, now in its 12th year, draws on an analysis of more than 600 law firms. It is based on intensive research, deep editorial experience and wide consultation with corporate counsel and Indian law firms.
The survey highlights the work of Dechert’s India team in M&A and other corporate matters, fund formation work and in government and internal investigations. Noting the Mahindra Group and the Aditya Birla Group as new clients, it draws attention to the firm’s representation of Indian biopharmaceutical company Biocon in negotiations for a global collaboration agreement with Sandoz, a Novartis division, to develop, manufacture and commercialize multiple biosimilars in immunology and oncology for patients worldwide.
The firm was also praised for its role as global legal adviser to Albéa shareholders on the US$1.5 billion sale of the Albéa group to PAI Partners, a Paris-based private equity firm. Albéa manufactures plastic packaging products for the beauty and personal care market from 38 sites in Europe, the Americas and Asia, including India.
