Working Mother Names Dechert One of the 2018 “100 Best Companies”
Dechert LLP has been named one of Working Mother’s 2018 “100 Best Companies.” This list recognizes companies for their excellence in the areas of female career advancement, paid parental leave, childcare assistance, benefits and flexible work schedules. Earlier this year, Dechert also earned a spot on the Working Mother “Best Law firms for Women” list and on the Diversity Best Practices Inclusion Index.
Additionally, New York-based finance partner Krystyna Blakeslee is recognized as a “2018 Working Mother of the Year.” Ms. Blakeslee, a former Marine Corps sergeant in Iraq, started at Dechert as a summer associate in 2008 and was promoted to partner in 2017, while pregnant with her second child. She is also the chairperson for Heroes, the firm’s employee resource group for veterans.
“At Dechert we support the advancement of working parents and it is an honor to be recognized for our efforts as one of the best companies by Working Mother,” said Alison Bernard, the firm’s chief talent and human resources officer. “We congratulate Krystyna on this recognition as we have always known that Krystyna is exceptional – she is a leader in her field, a war veteran, a great mentor and a dedicated mother to her two children. We are honored to call her our colleague.”
Blakeslee added, “This recognition reinforces Dechert’s culture and commitment to fostering a dynamic and supportive atmosphere and provides a platform where men and women alike can talk openly about the ways they make work ‘work’ for them, with the goal that one day we can have a ‘Working Parent of the Year Award.’”
Working Mother Media (WMM) is a division of Bonnier Corp. that publishes Working Mother magazine and its companion website, workingmother.com. WMM’s mission is to serve as a champion of culture change, and Working Mother magazine is the only national magazine for career-committed mothers.
