Andrea L.C. Reid Joins Dechert as IP Partner in Boston

Global specialist law firm Dechert LLP announced today that Andrea L.C. Reid has joined the firm as a partner in the Intellectual Property practice in the Boston office. Reid was previously a partner at Choate Hall and Stewart LLP.
“Andrea’s outstanding reputation and her nearly 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry make her a perfect fit for Dechert,” said Jeffrey Plies, chair of Dechert's Intellectual Property group. “She will be a tremendous asset to our global patent counseling and prosecution practice, while strengthening our Boston-based team as well.”
Reid’s practice is focused on patent portfolio creation and management counseling for all sectors of the pharmaceutical industry, as well as conducting IP due diligence and advising litigation teams on technical scientific concepts. Prior to private practice, Reid worked as a patent agent at a global biotechnology company and as a chemist where she was an inventor on 14 U.S. patents and co-authored numerous scientific publications.

Reid is a member of the Massachusetts State Bar and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office District of Columbia, as well as U.S. District Court for Massachusetts and the U.S. Supreme Court. She received her B.S. in 1987 from Boston University, her M.S. in 1996 from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, and her J.D. (with distinction) in 2006 from Suffolk University Law School.
