Dechert LLP’s global finance team has been recognized by GlobalCapital in its European Securitization Awards 2025, where a Dechert deal – Barings’ launch of Europe’s inaugural private credit CLO – was named “CLO Deal of the Year”.
A Dechert team led by global finance partners Aaron Scott (London) and Christopher Duerden (Charlotte, NC), with associate Rory O’Connor (London), advised Barings on the structuring and launch of Barings Euro Middle Market CLO 2024-1 DAC, a market-first transaction. The CLO, valued at €380 million, was backed by a portfolio of European middle-market senior secured loans and rated by S&P and Fitch. The Dechert tax team acting on the matter was led by partners Mark Stapleton (London) and Jeff Kang (New York), with associate Nicolas Kokkinos (London).
Dechert is widely recognized for its expertise in advising the CLO industry. In the United States, where the firm has acted as manager’s counsel on more private credit CLOs than any other law firm, Dechert was recently named “CLO Law Firm of the Year” by GlobalCapital for the ninth time.
Winners in GlobalCapital’s European Securitization Awards 2025 were announced at a ceremony at London’s Nobu Hotel on March 27.
