Dechert's Antitrust Group Earns Ninth Consecutive “Global Elite” Ranking by Global Competition Review

December 11, 2024

Dechert's antitrust/competition practice group has once again been recognized in the "Global Elite" rankings of the Global Competition Review (GCR) 100 guide, marking the ninth consecutive year the firm has received this prestigious accolade. In addition, our Paris and Pennsylvania teams also were again recognized as “Elite.”

Led by co-chairs Steven Bizar and Mike Cowie, Dechert’s antitrust group boasts GCR-ranked teams in four jurisdictions. GCR highlighted Dechert’s defense of litigation brought against the Kroger/Albertsons US$24 billion merger in three cases by the FTC and states. Additionally, Dechert advised electric utility company Energy Harbor on its US$6.8 billion merger with nuclear power generation company Vistra.

Dechert was praised for representing packaging company Crown Holdings in its appeal against a €4.2 million fine levied by France’s Competition Authority as part of its Bisphenol A probe and for its ongoing representation of Roche in a high-profile unilateral conduct matter. In the private litigation area, GCR noted Dechert’s work defending Fox against Fubo TV Media’s lawsuit seeking to block a broadcaster joint venture with Disney/ESPN and Warner Bros. Discovery.
