The Deal Recognizes Dechert for Excellence in Financial Services Dealmaking Again
Dechert LLP has once again been honored for outstanding sustained performance in financial services transactions by leading finance publication The Deal, winning its “Financial Services Law Firm of the Year” award for the mid-market segment for the second year in a row.
The Deal established its annual award program to recognize innovative transactions and the firms that drive them. Winning deals in the large-cap and middle-market segments are chosen for their complexity and impact on the deal economy.
Dechert was previously recognized as “Financial Services Firm of the Year” in The Deal’s Middle Market Awards 2020.
In this year’s awards, Dechert was also recognized as finalist for “Financial Services Law Firm of the Year” in the large-cap category. Additionally, the firm’s Paris tax team was honored for its work on KKR’s €3.3 billion acquisition of French hospital operator Elsan Group, which was a finalist in the “Cross-Border Deal of the Year” category.
Dechert’s interdisciplinary team of lawyers from the corporate, financial services and finance and real estate practices has advised on more than 100 financial services transactions since 2019, totaling more than US$105 billion in aggregate value. In 2020 alone, the firm advised on more than 40 financial services deals, totaling approximately US$35 billion. Standout transactions have highlighted Dechert’s strengths in asset management deals, CLO consolidations, and BDC formations/consolidations, as well as in the real estate, insurance and banking sectors.
Winners in The Deal Awards 2021 were announced in a ceremony at the JW Marriott Essex House, New York on September 23.
