Lindsay Trapp is a dual American and Irish qualified lawyer who specializes in complex credit fund formation and insurance solutions for private fund sponsors world-wide.
Ms. Trapp’s practice focuses on assisting global asset managers and sponsors in the structuring and formation of complex credit private funds and structured credit funds as well as assisting with post-establishment compliance and distribution. Situated within Dechert’s market leading Structured Credit and CLO group, Ms. Trapp provides specialist advice in relation to: rated funds and other structures for capital-efficient insurance investing globally; complex cross-border private credit funds with a focus on treaty and other structures for tax-efficient global fundraising; captive CLO equity funds with EU risk retention compliant manager originators; levered private funds utilizing captive CLOs; Collateralized Fund Obligations; evergreen illiquid asset funds; liquid multi-credit funds, and funds of closed-end funds.
Ms. Trapp is frequently quoted by industry press including Ignites Europe and Creditflux, where she has been quoted about matters affecting rated funds, insurance investors, private funds, CLOs and their managers in the US and Ireland. She has also been recognized as a Rising Star Partner in IFLR1000 in the area of private equity funds.
In addition to advising global clients on the establishment of private funds, Ms. Trapp provides in time zone advice on AIFMD related issues for U.S. clients and deal teams and provides European clients with assistance regarding the requirements for managing and marketing foreign funds into the United States. Also included in her formation work is upper tier structuring for sponsors and representing investors on their investment into private funds.
Ms. Trapp is admitted in New York and Ireland only; she is not admitted in North Carolina.
