Jack Spencer focuses his practice on estate planning for high net worth individuals and advising large charitable foundations. Mr. Spencer regularly advises clients on estate, gift and GST tax planning, life insurance, charitable giving and business succession planning for families, and assists with the preparation of tax returns and probate documents for individuals, trusts and estates.
Mr. Spencer has extensive experience in cross-border estate and tax planning on behalf of clients with connections to The Bahamas, Canada, the Cayman Islands, Israel and various European jurisdictions. He regularly advises on pre-immigration planning, foreign and domestic trust issues, and planning for U.S. clients with assets in foreign jurisdictions. Mr. Spencer also specializes in navigating estate tax treaties and U.S. transfer tax planning for non-U.S. individuals owning U.S.-based assets, having written articles on the topic.
In addition, Mr. Spencer has significant experience advising nonprofits and large, international charitable foundations on a variety of matters, including corporate governance, regulatory compliance and tax considerations.
