Nicolle L. Jacoby

Nicolle L. Jacoby is the co-head of Dechert’s Labor and Employment practice. Her practice focuses on employment-related matters, including conducting internal investigations into allegations of employee misconduct and litigating high-stakes discrimination cases, contractual disputes with executives, defamation, and non-compete, non-solicit and trade secret cases in the courts as well as in mediation and arbitration. Ms. Jacoby regularly represents employers in proceedings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, New York City and State Human Rights Commissions and other regulatory agencies. She also counsels companies on managing whistleblower claims, high-risk terminations and severance arrangements; advises with respect to defamation claims; advises on compliance with federal and state anti-discrimination and other labor and employment laws; and drafts severance and employment agreements, and personnel policies and procedures.

Ms. Jacoby regularly counsels and defends financial institutions, including hedge funds, investment advisers and a wide range of public and private companies, in connection with disputes with current and former executives, and has managed a variety of employment-related disputes in litigation, arbitration and mediation. Ms. Jacoby leads investigations into allegations of sexual harassment and other employee misconduct and advises public and private companies on compliance with federal and state anti-discrimination laws. She represents clients in diverse fields including investment banking, financial services, media and entertainment, insurance, pharmaceuticals, and health care.

Ms. Jacoby was also recognized by Lawdragon's 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 editions as one of "The 500 Leading U.S. Corporate Employment Lawyers" in America.
